Sixth-grade language teacher Ethan Hooper has been suspended from Howard Middle school in Orlando, Florida after parents discovered multiple TikTok videos in which the teacher had his students perform as “political props.”
One video, flagged for the public by Libs of TikTok featured white students fanning, feeding, and bowing down to their Black classmates, as a celebration of Black History Month,
Another video, meant to criticize Florida Gov. Ron Desantis’ Stop WOKE Act, featured Hooper dramatically walking around his classroom taking books from children, and declaring that books about black history were not allowed.
Orange County Public Schools superintendent said he was “appalled” by the teacher’s use of his own students as “political props” for social media, reports the New York Post. Read more…
