National Constitution Center Promotes Liberal Agenda With Drag Queen Story Time Event!

The National Constitution Center in Philadelphia recently launched Pride Month with a drag queen story time event, which organizers claim set a world record for attendance, according to the Associated Press (AP).

The event took place on Saturday at this historic site, hosted by the Philadelphia Gay News and Visit Philadelphia. It attracted 263 attendees who watched city drag performers read children’s stories, as reported by the AP.

Organizers stated that the gathering, led by local drag performer and LGBTQ+ activist Brittany Lynn, set a Guinness World Record for the largest drag queen story time, the AP noted. Mark Segal, publisher of the Philadelphia Gay News, remarked that such “history-making moments” at a site synonymous with the fight for fundamental rights highlight the resilience, talent, and culture of Philadelphia.

Segal told CBS NEWS Philadelphia that the turnout exemplified the city’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. “There’s a reason Philadelphia is considered the most LGBT friendly city in America,” he said.

The stories read by drag queens to both adults and children included titles such as “Hello Philadelphia,” “Twas the Night Before Pride,” “Elmer,” “The Family Book,” and “Kevin the Unicorn: It’s Not All Rainbows,” according to the AP.

The AP reached out to Guinness representatives for confirmation of the record. Currently, the Guinness website lists a record for the most people attending a drag brunch, an event held in Brooklyn, New York, which drew 412 participants, the outlet reported.
