Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shared a flyer on Instagram on Tuesday, calling on fellow comrades to “protect” a drag queen event for children in Queens.
The flyer, which AOC reposted from an Instagram account called “therollinglibrary”, reads “Defend Drag Story Hour in NYC! Help protect queer spaces and expression under threat from the far right.”
The post reads, “the rolling library is a queer-led, queens-based, library-obsessed mutual aid group so yes we will standing [sic] with our comrades to defend Drag Story Hour this Thursday in Jackson Heights!!!!”
The event calls on attendees to wear regular clothing and a mask, as well as “rainbow swag, non-amplified noisemakers, musical instruments, joy, and love.” Read more…
