By now we’ve all heard of the tragic deaths of two young migrant children at our Southern border, the latest on Christmas Day.
The devastating deaths immediately motivated the mainstream media and Democratic lawmakers to blame everyone but the thousand-mile journey through some of the most hostile terrain imaginable.
In fact, within less than a few hours after the Guatemalan child’s death, the media began their propaganda offensive with sensational headlines suggesting that the death of the young Guatemalan child was somehow the fault of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Department of Homeland security.
CNN, without bothering to gather the facts, decided to sensationalize the tragic death, by using Christmas as the backdrop; “8-year-old Guatemalan boy dies in US custody on Christmas Eve” screamed the headline.
The article then goes on to imply that the child was released from US custody after being diagnosed stating; “The child was held for an additional 90 minutes for observation and then released from the hospital mid-afternoon on December 24 with prescriptions for amoxicillin and Ibuprofen.”
Adding; “On Monday evening, the boy began vomiting and was taken back to the hospital for evaluation. He died hours later, the CBP said.”
CNN then doubles down taking a more aggressive posture towards U.S. Customs and Border Protection services with this headline; “The final days of Felipe Alonzo-Gomez, the 8-year-old migrant who died in US custody.”
The article then quotes Democratic lawmaker Rep. Castro, demanding a congressional investigation regarding the death of the child, which no doubt is an absolute must, however none of the mainstream media is looking for the facts surrounding the boys death, only drawing conclusions in their unbridled disregard for who’s actually responsible for the young child’s death.
In a prepared statement by Castro regarding the death of the young boy, “While the CBP notified Congress within 24 hours as mandated by law, we must ensure that we treat migrants and asylum-seekers with human dignity and provide the necessary medical care to anyone in the custody of the United States government.”
Adding; “The cause of death of the minor is still being investigated and the medical records have been requested in order to help clarify the cause of death.”
However what seems tragically clear, in that the father of young Felipe Alonzo-Gomez declined any further medical treatment from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CPB) agents after the child vomited following an initial examination from doctors, when directly asked by officials regarding his son’s condition, he told medical personnel his son “had been feeling better.”
Government officials provided further details, including the startling disclosure of the father’s behavior, regarding the timeline of the child’s deteriorating condition. According to officials, the eight-year-old boy was given multiple medical examinations by doctors before being released with prescription medications.
In the other tragic death of a young 7-year old girl from Guatemala, who died of dehydration, the unhinged leftist media once again hyped up the facts, to comport with their own progressive agenda, regardless of the actual facts.
Politico had erroneously reported through its Huddle newsletter that the young child was in the Border Patrol’s custody for a week.
“Top House Democrats are calling for a ‘full investigation’ into the death of a 7-year-old girl from Guatemala, who died of dehydration and shock just one week after she was taken into Border Patrol Custody,” the newsletter reported.
Here are the facts; the child came to the attention of the Border Patrol on December 6th outside of Lordsburg, N.M. After being taken into custody, the girl started having seizures. She “reportedly had not eaten or consumed water for several days,” Customs and Border Protection (CBP) told the Washington Post.
Border Patrol emergency medical technicians took the child’s temperature which registered at 105.7-degrees and immediately transported her by air ambulance to an El Paso hospital, where despite the doctor’s heroic efforts the child died at the hospital less than 24 hours after being transported.
In both instances, thoughtless and politically motivated parents using their children as props, risking their health, and paying the ultimate price for their selfishness.
