What’s Going On Around the Kitchen Table?

Whenever I hear the words kitchen table, family comes to mind.  As kids, we were required to be home at a certain time for dinner.  Usually right before the street lights came on.  That was the rule.  We were never late, or else.  So for me, family and kitchen table go hand in hand. I think that is true for ...

Who Is Raising Your Kids Anyway?

Life issues are tough on kids today. But they seem to be harder for parents. We live in a society devoid of morality and family values. Many of these moral deficiencies are brought on by the very adults who mold the trends for our youth.  It is an unfortunate fact that too many kids are looking to adults outside the ...

Do You Know Where Your Children Are

Do you know where your children are?” is a question used as a public service announcement (PSA) for parents on American television especially during the late 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Two stations laid claim to that question during those years: WKBW-TV news anchor Irving Weinstein (1964) and Mel Epstein, Director of On-Air Promotions at New York’s WNEW-TV.  This campaign was ...

Is Common Core A Common Problem?

The change from solving equations to analyzing functions at length has been challenging for students and parents alike, and since 2009 when Common Core was introduced in American public schools, it’s been a politically charged issue by parents. Currently, 42 states plus the District of Columbia use the standards, with adoption motivated in part by financial incentives provided by the ...

The 60’s Sexual Revolution is Way Different than This One

I grew up as a Gen X kid. My mother was a self-proclaimed hippie up until she grew older and became intrigued by the idealism of what I call the “True Republican Era.” You know – when Reagan was in office and embodied true Conservative ideals: belief in smaller government, a truly free market, real democracy, and less interference in ...

Mental Illness Dangers In America’s Teens

After one of America’s most deadly mass school shooting recently in Parkland, FL,  parents, children, and families around the country are asking “How did this happen?” and “How could this have been prevented?” Many have jumped on the bandwagon urging for restricting gun control rights, and yes, I think we can all agree that a 19-year old with a history ...

America’s Public Schools – Our Kids at Risk

Yes I said it.  Our kids are at risk in America’s public schools.  On Valentine’s Day in Parkland, Florida, a student shot and killed former classmates. So far 17 people are reported dead, 14 of whom are students. Fourteen families will not see their teenagers alive again.  I can’t imagine the despair, the horror and heartbreak.  The news is just ...

HIGH SCHOOLER USED FOR ANTI-GUN AGENDA

The left has no boundaries or shame. They not only know not to let a good crisis go to waste; they use the victims of a crisis to advance their agenda. The 2018 school shooting has now predictably evolved into gun control propaganda. We now have students who survived the attack leading the charge for gun control. One 17-year-old girl ...

Obama’s Chickens Coming Home to Roost

During the 8 years the Obamas squatted in the White House, nothing positive was produced, except of course for them, personally. $100M in tax payer funded vacations for Michelle, Barry and their entourages.   A lunch program designed by Michelle that made our kids demand bagged lunches from home, yet Michelle and Barry’s daughters feasted on elite private school lunches. ...

Boredom Never Killed Anyone But Avoiding It Has

Alain de Botton, British Author and Philosopher extraordinaire, has an interesting idea about addiction. In one of his publications, he describes addiction as the following:  “There are, in truth, far more addicts than we think. Indeed, if we look at the matter squarely: we are pretty much all addicts… addiction is the manic reliance on something, ANYTHING, in order to ...
